ASIT Creative Problem-Solving Training

Introduction

ASIT is a systematic creativity method that guides you towards elegant solutions by prioritising existing potential and respecting current constraints. An effective results-oriented method (we don't seek to BE creative but to OBTAIN creative results), ASIT supports individuals and teams towards innovative outcomes through a simple and effective approach.

Comprising 5 tools that structure the creativity process and 2 principles characterising innovative solutions, ASIT enables you to obtain creative solutions and innovate in all fields.

ASIT R (R for Resolution) offers an innovative, methodological approach to meet the needs of companies facing innovation challenges. ASIT enables you to start a project properly or overcome a blocking problem (for example, working around a patent).

Questions & Answers about ASIT Resolution

Q: "How does ASIT compare with brainstorming or other divergent approaches that suggest thinking outside the box?"
A: "ASIT provides the means to find solutions systematically, by focusing on the problem to be solved and using all available resources (including constraints and causes of the problem). The ASIT creativity session proceeds without wandering or influence from one person, for example. Each possible solution will be explored, which at the end of the workshop provides: 1) a large number of new ideas 2) a feeling of completeness: we've covered the subject thoroughly."

Q: "What is ASIT Resolution used for?"
A: "ASIT Resolution is perfectly suited to finding solutions to blocking problems, whether technological or not, such as working around a patent, drastically reducing costs or improving a complex process..."

Training in the ASIT creative problem-solving method ASIT Creative Problem-Solving Method

Training Objective

This training in the ASIT method (a creativity method comprising 5 tools and 2 innovation principles) will enable you to acquire knowledge in creativity management to solve problems systematically and improve your innovation capabilities.

Practical Training Aimed at Autonomy

The use of the ASIT method from the second day of training on real company cases reinforces learning and anchors new reflexes. By the end of the course, the trained group can organise their own creativity sessions!

Some Applications of the ASIT Creative Problem-Solving Method

  • Solve long-standing or blocking problems innovatively (products, services, processes...)
  • Find alternative solutions rather than correcting and complicating an existing solution
  • Work around a patent by finding a new solution
  • Anticipate potential competing solutions and protect against them
  • Generate, evaluate and dare to propose a differentiating response to a tender
  • Find creative conceptual solutions and then turn them into market innovations

Learning Objectives

Learn to find creative solutions to all types of problems (all fields).

By the end of this training, you will be able to:

  • Understand the concept of creative blocks (fixation, cognitive biases).123
  • Understand how the ASIT Resolution method bypasses these blocks.123
  • Identify a topic suitable for using the ASIT Resolution method.123
  • Name the specific terms for the preparation phase and the method's tools.123
  • Prepare a creativity session with the ASIT Resolution method.123
  • Use the ASIT Resolution tools (role, operation, grammar).13
  • Use the ASIT Resolution method to generate ideas (alone or with trained individuals) whilst respecting the rules and facilitation rhythm.13
  • Manage generated ideas: write them down, evaluate them, select them, present them.123
Assessment method: 1 - Assessed by the trainer during exercises and questions. 2 - Validated during the end-of-training quiz and its debrief. 3 - Self-assessed by available quiz.
The (self-)assessments and debriefs contribute to the acquisition and validation of skills.

Training Programme for the ASIT Creativity Method - Creative Problem Solving

Course Structure

Dialogue is quickly established through a series of test games that show trainees the traps that normally prevent us from innovating.

Once these traps are identified, trainees discover how to bypass these "blocks" to think differently and revisit problems.

We then introduce the needs and benefits of creative solutions (in addition to traditional solutions that we easily find). The ASIT method is introduced as a response to the specifications co-constructed progressively from the beginning.

The training continues with the use of the ASIT method on educational cases to understand how it works and the results obtained.

On the second day, we use the ASIT creativity method on company cases and introduce new skills: When to use ASIT? How to evaluate and present innovative ideas, for example.

ASIT creativity sessions integrate into your internal innovation process, structure it and systematise innovation.

Experiences During Training, Learning Outcomes

  • Know how to identify the main obstacles to creativity (fixations/blocks).
  • Differentiate between "being creative" and "generating a creative result".
  • Understand the existence of creative mechanisms and their place in the innovation process.
  • Know how to foster creativity in those around you, for example by setting the right constraints.
  • Have used ASIT on educational cases to understand how a structured creative idea generation method works: ASIT.
  • Understand the different structured ASIT tools for finding creative solutions, use them to observe their effectiveness and fields of application.
  • Know how to identify and characterise creative ideas.
  • Know how to use ASIT tools in your environment (not exclusively technological).
  • Have used ASIT on current project issues and be able to use it subsequently.
